El Obrero is an old canteen that used to be attended by workers from the workshops in Barracas neighborhood during the 50’s. As time went by and with the help of Castro’s family, the place turned into a traditional inn that receives national and international guests who enjoy its peculiar atmosphere. Eating here is similar to doing so at a museum; the walls are covered in old pictures, famous characters and boxing and football memories that are part of the rich history of the neighborhood. Behind that façade, you can see an unforgettable kitchen that prepares pucheros (meat and vegetable stew), pastas, fish and paellas and traditional homemade desserts. El Obrero suggests an experience worth living.
